Farewell Hipposhouse

Photographs of the project Tampere Doc 2022. The Subject of these photos is the demolition of the former State Office Building Hippostalo. The construction site of my shots during the summer and autumn 2021 represents a view that is a part of disappearing cityspace. A series of images of Tampere's most unsightly aforementioned house is built on the contrast between the sunny weather and the demolition event itself. It also serves as a symbol of the re-evaluation that is needed in all other areas of life, because noticing harmfull thought patters and structures both on a societal level and as an individual is necessary when planning something better. Inkjet prints on museum worthy Hahnemuehle Photo Rag paper. No Man Is An Island - Kukaan ei ole saari 2017

I have photographed these pictures in the autumn 2016 in the Reception Centre of Tampere (exept Juuli and Einari). The inhabitants of the Centre are shining in these photos. The main idea comes from the text of John Donne: we are interconnected, we are parts of whole. First time on display in Gallery NYKYAIKA Tampere Finland. More than 30 photographs is including in this serie / more: http://www.kuvataiteilijamatrikkeli.fi/fi/taiteilijat/1928 Sarja "Kukaan ei ole saari" on kuvattu syksyllä 2016 Tampereen vastaanottokeskuksessa. Malleina loistavat pääasiassa keskuksen asukkaat. Pohja-ajatuksena kuville on John Donnen teksti: olemme yhtä ja sidoksissa toisiimme, jos vahingoitamme naapuriamme, vahingoitamme samalla itseämme.
